The Idaho Steelheads fell at home by a score of 2-0 to the visiting Victoria Salmon Kings in Game 2 of the West Division Semifinal Series. The Steelheads, who are the second seed in the West Division, now trail the third-seeded Salmon Kings 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. Olivier LaBelle opened the scoring at 8:08 of the first period with his second of the playoffs. Just like last night, it was LaBelle getting Victoria on the board first; Chris St. Jacques and Darryl Lloyd assisted on the goal. After one period, the shot counter read 10-10. Over the final two periods, the Steelheads outshot Victoria 40-13, but came up empty-handed against Victoria netminder Todd Ford. Victoria would add another goal, an empty-netter from Adam Taylor, with two seconds left. Matt Kelly assisted on the goal, giving him three assists in the first two games of the series. Matt Climie stopped 21 of 22 and fell to 0-2 in the postseason. Todd Ford stopped all 50 shots he faced and improved to 2-0. He now has 78 saves on 79 shots faced in the series with Idaho. The two teams are back in action Wednesday night in Victoria for Game 3 of the series. The puck drops at 8:05 Mountain Time.
