Former Burn Player Gets Another Shot at NFL

One week after making his af2 debut in the Boise Burn?s season finale, Linebacker Mickey Pimentel returns to the NFL, signing a two-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 2. Pimentel recorded 3 tackles in his only game as a member of the Burn, in the teams? loss to Spokane on July 26.Originally signed in 2007 as an un-drafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers, Pimentel was released following training camp on Sept. 1. He spent the final three weeks of the 2007 season on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. Pimentel played two years at the University of California, starting the final 10 games of his senior year for the Golden Bears in 2006. During his final season, he recorded 64 tackles (28 solo), 4.5 sacks, 5 break ups, and 1 interception. Pimentel?s interception came against Arizona State where he returned it 20 yards for a TD. In his two seasons at Cal, Pimentel tallied 98 tackles (48 solo) 8 sacks, 8 pass break ups and 3 interceptions. Mickey Pimentel (#51) is expected to play this Saturday night when the Falcons take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville, Fla.- www.boiseburn.com -
