Post game interview with Mark Weivoda following Saturday night's loss to the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz at Qwest Arena. Hoenike: Mark ? the team just lost its fourth game in a row, is the pressure starting to mount to get that monkey off your back? Weivoda: Oh yeah, definitely. I think it gets scary when you lose two in a row. At four in a row, it becomes desperate. We?ve got to go on the road next week versus Stockton and just worry about Stockton - and get a win. We can?t worry about these last four games. We just have to focus on Stockton. Hoenike: It never really felt like there was any kind of sync or rhythm for the Burn in tonight?s game on either side of the ball. Did it feel the same way to you? Weivoda: Yeah, it was a weird game. They ran the ball a lot which threw us off. It slowed our pass rush down. They have a good o-line, a lot of good players. Offensively, we have a lot of new guys on our o-line, we?re getting hurt by injuries and we?re a little out of sync. But we need to hit the field and get rolling. Hoenike: Earlier this week we started looking at the playoff picture. We were figuring that the team probably needs to win three more games to have a good shot at the playoffs. Now you need to win three out of five. I asked you earlier about the pressure. Is that something you guys are starting to worry about? You?ve got to get wins or you?re going to miss the playoffs? Weivoda: Of course. We want to make the playoffs. We want to make it into that post season because that is what it?s all about. Getting into the post season and making some noise, definitely! If we don?t get into the playoffs, the season is a wash. I feel tons of pressure. Last year we got on a roll. I thought we were one of the hottest teams at the end of last season. We just didn?t get in. We?re going to remind our fans of the winning streak we went on last season and that we can do it again. Hoenike: Last question Mark, is there a magic potion, a magic elixir, one thing that could turn this team around and let you find that groove again? Weivoda: Just gel as a team. Get the rhythm, the continuity back. Get everyone together. I don?t think it should be a problem. Coach Leslie will have us prepared and we should be ready to roll. Hoenike: We appreciate the time Mark. Good luck next week in Stockton.
