Hey Burn Fans! What an amazing game this last weekend! This being the first home game, and very first performance ever for the rookie dancers, it was definitely an exciting day for us Hotshots. We had been practicing since last October, and couldn?t wait to perform for the first time. I think all of our hard work paid off because it was truly one of the greatest games to watch, and be a part of. On Saturday afternoon all of us girls arrived at the arena at 1:00pm, dressed and ready to practice on the field for 2 hours. We were all so nervous that those hours were definitely a must! At 3:00pm it was time to get all dolled up and ready for the tailgate party. While in the locker room, we received our 2008 Hanigan Hotshots Calendar for the first time to see! We were so excited and so impressed with the pictures. We all had a blast during our photo shoots, and I think it really came out in our pictures. We hope you all enjoy them, and pick one up to support your Boise Burn! After getting ready we headed outside for the party. Although it was super cold outside, we had a blast signing calendars, chatting with fans, and giving shout outs on the radio station - 100.3 ?The X.? We need you fans to make this season great and hope to see you all outside at the next tailgate party! After tailgating it was almost time for the game to start. We hurried and got dressed, did some last minute touchups and headed out on the field. The feeling of walking onto the turf with all those fans surrounding you is incredible. Every one of us had a permanent smile on our faces because the energy was amazing! Then before we knew it was time for our very first performance! Ahhh, that?s when the butterflies hit, and we all got so nervous! It?s so funny after practicing for so long and being so confident with the dance, you still seem to question ?is that really how it goes?. The music started and the butterflies left, the feeling of being able to do what you love and share that passion with all those people is so exhilarating. We appreciate every ones support in cheering us on throughout the game. Games are really awesome to be at and dance for. Especially because we give a lot of hand outs to share with the crowd and a lot of ?hot? time outs. The next three dances went smoothly, with the same excitement every time. One of our favorite parts of the game is when we did the air guitar. Some of us new girls were a little iffy at first, but when we saw the crowd getting into it we know what we had to do! Thanks to Shellie, I think the west side won that challenge for sure! The Burn beat the Tri-Cities Fever 74-28! We were so proud of our team and all of the fans that came out to support the Boise Burn. Shana a returning Hotshot said ?it was one of the most exciting games she has ever cheered at? and I couldn?t agree more. It is so great to be so busy and be apart of such a great organization. I look forward to our next game this Saturday, and hope to see you all there! Come support your Boise Burn and let?s beat the Texas Copperheads!!! -- Kami
