BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that the club has signed forward Zdenek Sedlak to an ECHL contract for the 2026-27 season.
Sedlak, 26, comes to the Steelheads for his first professional North American season.
Last year, for KH Torun in the Polish Hockey League, the highest level in Poland, Sedlak registered 34 points (19G, 15A) in 35 games. He also scored one goal in three total games for Kitzbüheler EC in the AlpsHL.
The Zlin, CZE native previously spent three seasons in the Czech First and Second leagues with HC Plzeň, Berani ZlÃn, and HC Frýdek-MÃstek, skating in 110 games and picking up 45 points (24G, 21A). In 34 playoff games, he notched 13 points (7G, 6A).
From 2018-2022, the 6’3, 209-pound forward skated in 101 games in Finland’s second-tier league Mestis, picking up 53 points (18G, 35A) for RoKi Rovaniemi, Hermes Kokkola, and Kettera Imatra.
The Idaho Steelheads kick off their 29th season on October 16th at New Mexico and will host the Allen Americans on October 23rd for their home opener.
