BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that the club has signed defenseman John Driscoll to an ECHL contract for the 2026-27 season.
Driscoll, 25, enters his first professional season after a four-year collegiate career with Army and Sacred Heart University.
The 6-foot-4 blueliner collected 33 points (7G, 26A) in 68 games with the Black Knights in his first two college seasons before grabbing another 21 points (6G, 15A) in 79 games with the Pioneers the past two seasons.
The Eagle, ID native previously spent four campaigns in the USHL, amassing 43 points (2G, 41A) in 204 games with the Central Illinois Flying Aces, Des Moines Buccaneers, and Green Bay Gamblers.
Driscoll reunites with former Junior Steelheads teammate Luke Mylymok, with the pair each signing ECHL deals with the Steelheads this offseason.
The Idaho Steelheads kick off their 29th season on October 16th at New Mexico and will host the Allen Americans on October 23rd for their home opener.
