The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that forward Francesco Arcuri, defenseman Tommy Bergsland, and goaltender Arno Tiefensee have been assigned to the Steelheads by the Texas Stars (AHL).
Arcuri, 22, enters his third professional season and third with the Steelheads. Last year he registered 30 points (10G, 20A) in 30 games, and overall has accumulated 76 points (35G, 41A) with Idaho. Additionally, he has appeared in five AHL games for the Stars, with no points in those contests.
The 6-foot-1 forward previously spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Kitchener Rangers and Kingston Frontenacs, logging 185 points (89G, 96A) in 197 games. He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Bergsland, 24, signed an AHL contract with Texas on July 17 after appearing in six games with the Stars at the end of the 2024-25 regular season. Despite collecting no points in regular season play, he earned his first AHL playoff point with an assist on April 29 in Game One of the Central Division Semifinals.
The 6-foot-3 defenseman played four seasons at Colgate University before turning pro, collecting 71 points (14G, 57A) in 152 games. During his senior campaign in 2024-25, he posted 24 points (4G, 20A), and in his sophomore year he helped lead the team to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) title.
Tiefensee, 23, signed an entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars on April 11 after three professional seasons in Germany with Adler Mannheim of the DEL. He earned a record of 51-33-0 in 84 games, posting a 2.34 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
He began his professional career with the Heilbronner Falken of the DEL2, spending three seasons with the team and earning a record of 12-18-0 in 32 appearances with a 2.87 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. The 6-foot-4 goaltender was drafted in the fifth round (157th overall) by the Stars in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
The Idaho Steelheads kick-off their 28th on ice season October 17th at Tahoe and will host the Utah Grizzlies on October 24th for their home opener.
