BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today the leadership group for the Steelheads for the 2025-26 Season.
Forward Nick Canade has been named Captain of the Steelheads for the 2025-26 season. Canade enters his fourth season with Idaho after posting a career-high 17 goals and 30 points during the 2024-25 campaign.
“We’re super proud of Nick,” Sheen said. “It’s very well-earned. From day one, he’s been a huge part of this culture and growing it here, and we’re excited for this season with him at the helm.”
Canade succeeds forward A.J. White as team captain. White served as Idaho’s captain for the last three seasons and for five seasons overall with the Steelheads before retiring during the offseason.
Additionally, the Steelheads elected forward Jade Miller and defenseman Sam Jardine to serve as assistant captains.
Miller, also entering his fourth season in Idaho, has collected 28 goals and 62 points during his Steelheads tenure. He carries five total years of ECHL experience into this season after two years with the South Carolina Stingrays and three with the Steelheads.
Jardine, 32, enters his 10th professional season with 432 professional games under his belt, including 234 in the ECHL and 85 in the AHL. The two-time Kelly Cup Champion enters his first season with the Steelheads.
