BOISE, ID – The American Hockey League’s (@TheAHL) Ontario Reign (@ontarioreign) announced today that Cam McGuire has been named their new Manager of Communications. In his new role, McGuire will serve as the Voice of the Reign, calling play-by-play action for each of the club’s 72 games which can be viewed live on demand on AHLTV on FloHockey, the ESPN LA App and the Ontario Reign App.
“I will forever be grateful for my three years in Boise,” said McGuire. “The Idaho Steelheads are a top-notch organization from the staff members, players, coaches, and fans. I look forward to cheering on the Steelheads for many more years to come as Boise will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m extremely honored and fortunate to be joining an organization like the Ontario Reign. I can’t wait to get started with the Reign and am looking forward to an amazing season where I hope to bring the same joy to the fanbase that I experienced in Idaho.”
McGuire, 29, joined the Steelheads prior to the 2022-23 season and was named ECHL Media/PR Director of the Year during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 season. In addition, he was chosen to broadcast the 2024 ECHL All-Star Classic which aired live on NHL Network and FloHockey. Prior to his tenure in Boise, the Ridgefield, CT native spent three years with the ECHL’s Worcester Railers where he was awarded ECHL Broadcaster of the Year during the 2021-22 season.

The Idaho Steelheads kick-off their 28th on ice season October 17th at Tahoe and will host the Utah Grizzlies on October 24th for their home opener.
