The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Jason Horvath from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations.
Horvath, 24, has played parts of four seasons in the ECHL appearing in 92 games collecting 25 points (2G, 23A) spending time with Maine, Trois-Rivières, and Rapid City.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 198lb left-handed shooter played parts of four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2017-21 splitting time with Shawnigan and Halifax totaling 64 points (10G, 54A) in 209 career games with 199 penalty minutes.
The Steelheads are on the road this weekend for a three-in-three vs. Tulsa on Friday and Saturday at 6:05 pm. (MT) and Sunday at 2:05 p.m. (MT).
