BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads have acquired the rights to Forward Alan Lyszczarczyk and Defenseman Chase Stewart from the Fort Wayne Komets, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced Monday.
Lyszczarczyk (Lizz-arr-chuck), 22, posted 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points during his first professional season with the Komets in 2019-20.
“Alan is a tremendous young talent and had a very productive rookie season,” said Steelheads Head Coach Everett Sheen. “We are excited to add a young offensive talent like him.”
Prior to his professional career, the 5-foot-10, 204-pound forward spent four seasons in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, Owen Sound Attack, and Mississauga Steelheads. Throughout his 251 games in the OHL, Lyszczarczyk tallied 87 goals and 112 assists for 205 points.
Stewart, 23, made his professional debut with Fort Wayne during the 2018-19 season. Through 60 games in the ECHL, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound defenseman has 7 goals and 12 assists for 19 points.
“Chase is a throwback defenseman that adds some more toughness,” said Sheen. “We look forward to having his leadership and presence on the back end.”
