Seven Former Steelheads Included on Stanley Cup Playoff Rosters

BOISE, Idaho – The NHL has announced the Phase 4 player rosters for the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers that are set to begin on Saturday, August 1. Former Steelheads forwards Jay Beagle, Justin Dowling and Alex Belzile are included on rosters as well as goaltenders Jack Campbell, Max Lagacè, Philippe Desrosiers, and Landon Bow.

Jay Beagle, 34, played in 26 games with the Steelheads during the 2006-07 season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward was the first player to win the Kelly Cup (Idaho Steelheads 2006-07), Calder Cup (Hershey Bears 2008-09 & 2009-10), and the Stanley Cup (Washington Capitals 2017-18) and is currently a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Justin Dowling, 29, played in 34 games with the Steelheads during the 2012-13 season posting 13 goals and 33 assists for 46 points. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward is currently a member of the Dallas Stars and made is NHL debut with the Stars during the 2016-17 season.

Alex Belzile, 28, played in 63 games with the Steelheads during the 2014-15 season tallying 28 goals and 41 assists for 69 points. The 6-foot, 192-pound forward is currently a member of the Montreal Canadians.

Jack Campbell, 28, played in 27 games with the Steelheads over parts of the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. The 6-foot-2, 198-pound goaltender was the 11th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars and is currently a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Max Lagacè, 27, played in 11 games with the Steelheads during the 2015-16 season posting a 3.09 GAA in the ECHL and a 2.90 GAA with the AHL’s Texas Stars. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound goaltender is currently a member of the Boston Bruins.

Philippe Desrosiers, 24, was a member of the Steelheads during parts of four seasons beginning during the 2015-16 campaign. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound goaltender was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars and is currently a member of the Florida Panthers.

Landon Bow, 24, played in 31 games with the Steelheads during the 2016-17 season posting a 2.08 GAA. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound goaltender is currently a member of the Dallas Stars and appeared in two regular season NHL games with the Stars in 2018-19 with a 1.03 GAA.

Other notable names involved in the Stanley Cup Qualifier include Dallas Stars Assistant Coach Derek Laxdal and Florida Panthers Play-by-Play Broadcaster Doug Plagans.
