White, 28, played in 61 games during the 2019-20 campaign, tallying 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward is entering his fourth season with the Steelheads and was named Captain in his second season in 2018-19. During three seasons with the Steelheads, White owns 41 goals and 85 assists for 126 points through 203 games.
“I’m extremely excited to be able to play again in front of the best fans in the league and continue to call Boise home,” said White.
Prior to joining the Steelheads, White played his first ECHL season with the Atlanta Gladiators in 2016-17 following his professional debut with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and a stint with the Providence Bruins (AHL). In four collegiate seasons with UMass-Lowell, White boasted 28 goals and 51 assists for 79 points through 153 games over four seasons and was named Captain for his senior season in 2014-15. He helped lead UMass-Lowell to a Hockey East Championship in 2012-13.
“Excited to have A.J. back in Boise,” said Steelheads head coach Everett Sheen. “Having our captain back is a big step towards bringing back our core group of guys. He is a tremendous leader and the definition of what we look for in our players.”
The Dearborn, Michigan native is the first Steelheads player agreeing to terms to an ECHL contract for the 2020-21 season. Future announcements and signings will be announced throughout the summer.
