BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads have traded forward Matt Ustaski to the Rapid City Rush for cash considerations, Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced Thursday.
Ustaski, 25, was signed by the Steelheads on December 31 and played seven games, recording one goal and three assists for four points with a plus-three rating. The Glenview, Ill. native has played 10 ECHL games this season after starting the year with the Norfolk Admirals, totaling five points (1-4—5) with a plus-one rating. He also owns 10 points (4-6—10) through 19 games with the Pensacola Ice Flyers prior to his signing in Idaho. Prior to his professional career, Ustaski earned 22 points (13-9—22) over 100 games at the University of Wisconsin and was drafted 192nd overall (7th Round) by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Steelheads open a three-in-three weekend on Friday, Jan. 24 at 6:05 p.m. against the Kansas City Mavericks from Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. on 1350 KTIK-AM “The Ticket” and ECHL.tv.
