BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads (9-8-3) closed their six-game stretch against the Rapid City Rush with wins in four of six games as they prepare to open a nine-game home stand this weekend.

Wednesday, November 21 @ Rapid City Rush: 3-0 WShots: Steelheads 31, Rush 23PP: Steelheads 1-for-4, Rush 0-for-4

The Steelheads earned their first shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory from Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Forward Brad McClure (19:29 1st) scored the eventual game-winner on a rebound to open the lead to 1-0. Forward Kale Kessy (PP, 7:31 2nd) followed up with his first goal of the year, and McClure (0:40 3rd) helped put the game out of reach in the 3-0 result. Goaltender Tomas Sholl (3-2-0) stopped all 23 shots in the shutout win.

Friday, November 23 @ Rapid City Rush: 4-1 LShots: Steelheads 33, Rush 38PP: Steelheads 1-for-4, Rush 1-for-5

The Steelheads slipped behind early in a 4-1 loss from Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The Rush scored the opening four goals of the game starting with two tallies in the first period followed by one in the second and third period, respectively, to take a 4-0 lead. Forward Reid Petryk (PP, 5:51 3rd) answered the scoring run, but the Steelheads fell 4-1. Netminder Tomas Sholl (3-3-0) halted 34 of 38 shots in the loss.

Saturday, November 24 @ Rapid City Rush: 6-0 WShots: Steelheads 27, Rush 41PP: Steelheads 4-for-4, Rush 0-for-4

The Steelheads had a near perfect game in a 6-0 shutout win from Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Forward Kyle Schempp (PP 8:23 1st) started the special teams bonanza followed by forward Alex Dahl (PP, 11:05 1st) to take a swift 2-0 lead. Forward A.J. White (18:16 1st) scored the first of two even-strength goals to triple the lead, 3-0. Schempp (PP, 16:22 2nd) and defenseman Nolan Gluchowski (PP, 6:10 3rd) helped the Steelheads remain perfect on the power play, and forward Kale Kessy (13:27 3rd) notched the final tally in the 6-0 win. Goaltender Tomas Sholl (4-3-0) turned aside all 41 shots in the win.

Friday, November 30 vs. Jacksonville Icemen – 7:10 p.m. MTSaturday, December 1 vs. Jacksonville Icemen – 7:10 p.m. MT

The Steelheads host the Jacksonville Icemen for the first time in franchise history for a two-game weekend. The two teams did not meet when the Icemen franchise resided in Evansville for four seasons from 2012-16. The Steelheads open a nine-game home stand spanning four weeks through the holiday season and play their first two-game weekend since October 26 & 27 against Utah.

Teddy Bear Toss: The Steelheads host the annual Teddy Bear Toss this Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:10 p.m. against the Jacksonville Icemen from CenturyLink Arena. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently-used stuffed animals to throw on the ice following the first Steelheads goal. All stuffed animals will be donated to Toys For Tots. STEEL STATS…

Quick Bites:- Tomas Sholl earned his first two shutouts of the season on Wednesday and Friday. He now has six with the Steelheads in 18 games, moving into 2nd all-time in Steelheads ECHL history in shutouts behind Steve Silverthorn (10).- Kale Kessy recorded the first natural Gordie Howe hat-trick for the Steelheads this season, recording an assist, goal and fight in the third period of Saturday's win. Kessy also leads the ECHL with 95 penalty minutes in 10 games.- The Steelheads are the first team in the ECHL this season to go perfect on the power play and penalty kill with four or more chances on Saturday. They are the 2nd team with multiple power play chances to go perfect on special teams (Adirondack: 2-2 PP, 4-4 PK on Nov. 10), and it's the fifth time an ECHL team has had a perfect special teams record this season [Adirondack (twice), Newfoundland, Orlando]. All four teams were on the road.- The Steelheads finished their stretch against the Rush with a 4-1-1-0 record.- The Steelheads scored six goals for the second time this season on Saturday with their last instance on October 19 (6-5 OTW vs. Utah).
