BOISE, Idaho – The Texas Stars (AHL) have recalled forward Elgin Pearce from the Idaho Steelheads, and the Dallas Stars (NHL) have reassigned defenseman Ondrej Vala to AHL Texas, Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday.
Pearce, 26, finished his second stint with the Steelheads playing nine total games, tallying three assists for 14 penalty minutes. The Port Coquitlam, B.C., native played four games during his most recent stint and was previously assigned to the Steelheads on November 14. Pearce has played one game with AHL Texas and 11 career AHL games.
Vala, 20, earns his second call-up to AHL Texas and first since October 27. Through 10 games with the Steelheads this season, the Kolin, Czech Rep., product owns one assist with a plus-three rating. Vala was previously reassigned on November 13 and has played 15 professional games with two assists and a plus-five rating.
The Steelheads resume their six-game stretch against the Rapid City Rush tonight at 7:05 p.m. from Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
The Steelheads return to CenturyLink Arena on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:10 p.m. against the Jacksonville Icemen.
