Boise, ID (3/6/18) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced a pair of roster transactions on Tuesday afternoon. The Steelheads acquired forward Jack Nevins from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in exchange for future considerations, and goaltender Philippe Desrosiers was recalled to AHL Texas by the Dallas Stars.
Nevins, 24, has played 51 games with the Swamp Rabbits this season, totaling eight goals, 20 points, and 137 penalty minutes. The Stittsville, Ontario native is in his fourth pro season, and second in the ECHL. Nevins has played 112 ECHL games with Greenville and Quad City, recording 19 goals, 44 points, and 259 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2 forward played parts of his first three seasons in the American Hockey League, earning four goals, five points, and 214 penalty minutes in 108 games with Hamilton, Rochester, and Iowa.
Desrosiers, 22, is headed to Austin for the second time this year. A second-round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2013 NHL Draft, Desrosiers is in his third season with the Steelheads. The St. Hyacinthe, QC native is 23-9-3 with Idaho this season, with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage. Desrosiers appeared in ten consecutive games for the Steelheads prior to his recall, going 6-3-0 with a 1.89 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage with two shutouts.
