QUICK HITS: Colorado back to town

Chasing the Eagles: The Steelheads have won five of their last six games and are coming off a three-game sweep in Loveland, as the Colorado Eagles now visit the Steelheads for the final time in the regular-season to complete this six-game super-series. The Steelheads were ten points back of the Eagles last Tuesday, but now are only five points back of the Mountain Division leaders, with the Eagles enduring their longest winless streak of the season at 0-5-1.

Tried and True, Down by Two: The Steelheads overcame two-goal deficits twice last week, erasing a 2-0 deficit in their 4-2 win on Wednesday and climbing back from another 2-0 deficit in Friday’s 4-3 shootout win. The Steelheads have earned six wins this season in games they have trailed by two goals or more. Idaho is also 9-9-4 this season in games in which they have surrendered the first goal.

200 Club:  Jefferson Dahl moved into sole possession of third place on the Steelheads’ all-time ECHL scoring list on Saturday, notching his 14th two-point night of the season to move past Darrell Hay with 199 points as a Steelhead. Dahl’s next point will make him only the third Steelhead in the ECHL era to reach 200 points, trailing only Lance Galbraith (210) and Marty Flichel (408).

Shining in Shootouts: The Steelheads earned their fifth shootout win of the season, and fourth on the road, in an eight-round breakaway contest on Friday night. It was the longest Steelheads shootout since January 2, 2013, a nine-round shootout loss in Bakersfield. Ryan Faragher denied all eight shootout attempts he faced on Friday in Colorado for his second shootout win of the season. Brassart ended the shootout in the eighth round with his second career shootout goal.
