Steelheads and Idaho Beef Council team up for “Beef Night on the Ice”

Boise, ID (1/8/18)— This Saturday night, the Idaho Steelheads and the Idaho Beef Council will partner for their annual “Beef Night on the Ice” at CenturyLink Arena, as they join together for a fun-filled evening to help fight hunger in Idaho.

With a series of in-arena activities and fun give-away items, the Idaho Beef Council will raise money to support its “Beef Counts” program, which ensures a steady stream of proteins are donated each year to The Idaho Foodbank. $1 of every ticket sold for the Steelheads’ game against the Kalamazoo Wings will be donated back to the “Beef Counts” program.

“Our partners at the Idaho Beef Council do important work every year to fight hunger in Idaho, and we’re proud that we are able to join them in those efforts,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “This event gives an important boost to the ‘Beef Counts’ program, and also offers a fun and unique experience for our fans that they don’t get on any other night during the season.”

The first 500 fans in the door will receive an Idaho Beef Council cowbell. Delicious hotdogs and hamburgers will be half-off during the game. The Idaho Beef Council will be selling raffle tickets giving Steelheads fans the chance to win a Traeger Grill, a year’s supply of nutritious beef, Steelheads tickets, and a team jersey.

“The Beef Counts program plays a vital role in our effort to provide support for the 1 in 7 Idahoans who is food insecure,” said Karen Vauk, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank. “Thanks to the Idaho Steelheads and the Idaho Beef Council, Beef Night on the Ice is a great opportunity for families to have fun and support their neighbors in need.”

The Idaho Beef Council will have an information table set up on the concourse with more information on the “Beef Counts” program and other ways that fans can contribute to food drives this winter.
