McCormack selected to broadcast team for 2018 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic

Boise, ID (1/10/18) – The ECHL announced on Wednesday that Steelheads broadcaster Brian McCormack has been named to the broadcast team for the 2018 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic, which will be hosted by the Indy Fuel on January 15th at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

McCormack will join Everett Fitzhugh of the Cincinnati Cyclones and NHL Network Analyst Neil Smith for the broadcast, which can be seen starting at 11am MT on the NHL Network.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be given the opportunity to attend the All-Star Classic and work with a talented group to showcase the ECHL’s top talent,” said McCormack. “Teaming up with Everett and Neil, I think we’ll have as much fun bringing the game to the fans as the players will on the ice.”

“Our entire staff is excited for this great recognition of Brian,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “He is a consummate team player and does a great job as the voice of the Idaho Steelheads. I think this is the beginning of even bigger accomplishments in Brian’s broadcast career.”

McCormack, in his third season with the Steelheads, has called 191 games for the team. In addition to being named the team’s 2016 Employee of the Year, he was also a finalist for the ECHL’s Broadcaster of the Year award for the 2016-17 season.

“Brian is an essential part of our hockey club,” said Steelheads Head Coach Neil Graham. “His passion and knowledge of the game is excellent. He brings a contagious work ethic to our organization and is a prime example of an individual who rises above the required job tasks to always offer a helping hand.”

McCormack will join Steelheads forward Justin Parizek, who will represent the team for the Mountain Division in this year's inaugural 3-on-3 All-Star tournament.
