Boise, ID (12/8/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham confirmed on Saturday that forward Tommy Thompson has been released from his professional tryout agreement with the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars. Thompson has returned to the Steelheads and will be available for Saturday night’s game against the Utah Grizzlies.
Thompson, 27, played five games with the Steelheads this season prior to joining the Stars, playing his last game for Idaho on October 21st. The Londonderry, New Hampshire native recorded a goal and three points prior to heading to Texas. While with the Stars, Thompson appeared in eight games and notched two assists.
Thompson joined the Steelheads in August as part of a trade with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Thompson has totaled 19 goals and 38 points in 71 career ECHL games with Idaho and Greenville, and two assists in eleven AHL games with Texas and Hartford.
