Parizek returns from San Jose, Thomspon recalled to Texas

Boise, ID (12/29/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday that forward Justin Parizek has been released from his professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the American Hockey League’s San Jose Barracuda. Parizek has rejoined the Steelheads in Utah and will be available for Friday night’s game against the Grizzlies.

Forward Tommy Thompson has been recalled by the AHL’s Texas Stars and will not be in the lineup for Idaho.

Parizek, 25, joined the Barracuda on December 16th and recorded six penalty minutes in three AHL games. The rookie out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha has 12 goals and 23 points in 25 games with Idaho this season, still ranked seventh in the ECHL in rookie scoring.

Thompson, 27, will join the Stars for the second time this season, and first since signing an AHL contract with Texas on December 19th. Thompson totaled two assists and eleven penalty minutes in eight games during his first stint with Texas on a professional tryout agreement. He has two goals and eight points in eleven games with Idaho this season, including a goal and five points in six games since returning from his first recall on December 9th.
