Hanna recalled to AHL Texas

Boise, ID (12/14/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Thursday that defenseman Shane Hanna has been recalled by the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.

Hanna, 23, is playing his first professional season and is on an AHL contract with the Stars. The New Westminster, BC native has appeared in 26 games this season with the Steelheads, tallying four goals and 14 points. Hanna is tied for second in the ECHL among rookie defensemen in scoring.

The 5-foot-11 defenseman played the past four years at Michigan Tech, where he served as an assistant captain for the past two seasons. Hanna was named Second Team All-Conference last season and helped lead the Huskies to a WCHA Conference title. In 163 NCAA games, Hanna totaled 21 goals and 90 points.

This is Hanna’s first recall this season to Texas.
