Fyten recalled to AHL Texas

Boise, ID (12/8/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham confirmed on Friday that forward Austin Fyten has been recalled by the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.

Fyten, 26, played five games with the Steelheads after being assigned to Idaho from Texas on November 24th. The Sundre, Alberta native notched one assist and 14 penalty minutes with Idaho. He had played one AHL game with the Stars earlier this season.

This was Fyten’s second stint with the Steelheads. He also played in Idaho for parts of two seasons from 2012 to 2014. Fyten registered 23 goals and 56 points in 61 regular season games with Idaho in his first tour.

Fyten has recorded 15 goals and 46 points, along with 201 penalty minutes, in 188 career AHL games with Texas, Oklahoma City, Lehigh Valley, and Hershey.
