Rapid City, SD (12/22/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham confirmed on Friday that forward Cole Ully has been reassigned to the Steelheads from the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars by the Dallas Stars. Ully will be available for the Steelheads game against the Rapid City Rush on Friday.
Ully, 22, is a Dallas Stars draft pick, taken in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft with the 131st pick. The Calgary, Alberta native has appeared in 16 games this season with AHL Texas, recording three assists and 12 penalty minutes. Ully has appeared in 121 AHL games with Texas since the spring of 2015, scoring 20 goals and earning 46 points.
This is Ully’s second visit to the ECHL, appearing in six games with Idaho during the 2015-16 season and totaling a goal and six points. The 5-foot-11 forward will wear number 25 for Idaho.
Prior to turning pro, Ully played parts of five seasons with the Western Hockey League’s Kamloops Blazers, posting 95 goals and 237 points in 256 junior games.
