Boise, ID (11/22/17) - Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Wednesday that Brady Brassart, Mitch Moroz, and Joe Faust have been named assistant captains for the 2017-18 season.
Brassart and Moroz are both playing their first seasons in Idaho. Faust is in the midst of his second year in Idaho, but is currently in the American Hockey League for the Utica Comets on a professional tryout agreement.
“We’re excited to announce our captains for the season,” said Graham. “With Jefferson Dahl already in place as our captain, our three assistant captains add a great balance on and off the ice.”
Dahl has worn the ‘C’ since the start of last season. Brassart served as an assistant captain in juniors with the Calgary Hitmen in 2013-14. Moroz also was an assistant captain in juniors that season for the Edmonton Oil Kings.
“We have four different personalities in our leadership group,” said Graham. “They all offer something unique, but they complement each other well.”
Brassart currently leads the Steelheads with 18 points. Faust was tied for second among Steelheads defenseman prior to his call-up with eight assists. Moroz leads the Steelheads with 56 penalty minutes.
