Steelheads add Durocher, Desrosiers returns from Texas

Boise, ID (11/24/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced two transactions on Friday. Graham confirmed that goaltender Philippe Desrosiers has been reassigned to Idaho from the Texas Stars by the NHL’s Dallas Stars. The Steelheads also agreed to terms on an ECHL contract with forward Corey Durocher.

Desrosiers was recalled to Texas at the start of the week and did not see game action during his time with the AHL Stars. He is 6-1-2 with Idaho this season with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.

Durocher, 25, joins the Steelheads after spending the first ten games of the season with the Brampton Beast. A sixth-round draft pick (153rd overall) of the Florida Panthers in 2010, Durocher had two goals with the Beast this season, as well as eight penalty minutes. The Ottawa, Ontario native also played five games with the Beast at the end of last season following the conclusion of his senior campaign at Carleton University.

The 6-foot-3 Durocher played four seasons at Carleton, finishing with 34 goals and 83 points in 90 games. Durocher played junior hockey prior to attending school, playing three years in the Ontario Hockey League from 2009-2012 with Kingston and Sault Ste. Marie with 45 goals and 94 points in 191 games. He spent the 2012-13 campaign in the Central Canada Hockey League with Gloucester and Nepean.
