Boise, ID (11/21/17) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Tuesday that defenseman Joe Faust has been signed to a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets.
The Comets are the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. Faust becomes the second Steelhead this season under ECHL contract to sign a tryout agreement with an AHL club, with Tommy Thompson currently with the Texas Stars on a PTO as well.
Faust, 26, has recorded eight assists in 15 games with the Steelheads this season. A fourth-round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2010, Faust joined the Steelheads last season and set a team ECHL record with 14 goals, along with 41 points in 69 ECHL games.
Faust has appeared in 38 AHL games over the last three seasons, including four last year with AHL Texas, and has collected a goal and four points. The Bloomington, Minnesota native has totaled 16 goals and 59 points in 122 career ECHL games with Idaho and the Adirondack Thunder.
