Boise, ID (9/6/17) – The Idaho Steelheads released their preseason schedule on Wednesday afternoon, announcing a home-and-home set against the Utah Grizzlies prior to the start of the 2017-18 regular season.
The Steelheads will visit the Grizzlies at Maverik Center on Friday, October 6th for a 7pm puck-drop. The teams will meet again the following night, October 7th, for a 7pm face-off at CenturyLink Arena in the final exhibition before opening night of the ECHL season.
“It’s been a long summer and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our fans back into our building,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “We have high hopes for this team, and our preseason game is always a wonderful opportunity for our fans to see some of their favorite returning players in action and meet some of the new members of our team.”
The Steelheads and Grizzlies meet for a home-and-home set each preseason to get ready for opening day. Last season the Grizzlies swept the exhibition series, while Idaho won both games the season before. The Steelheads are 14-6-3 against the Grizzlies in the regular season in two years under Head Coach Neil Graham.
Tickets to the Steelheads’ home preseason game on October 7th will be reserved for Steelheads’ season ticket holders, with season ticket plans still available for purchase.
Preseason games will not be broadcast on television or radio, with Steelheads game broadcasts on CableOne, KTIK Radio, and ECHLTV resuming for the first game of the regular season on October 13th, when the Steelheads host the Norfolk Admirals.
