Wheeling, WV (3/24/17) –Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday that goaltender Landon Bow, forward Michael McMurtry, and defenseman Justin Hache have all joined the team after being assigned from the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars on Wednesday.
Bow and McMurtry have both appeared with the Steelheads this season and were assigned by Texas, while Hache will join Idaho for the first time. Hache was assigned by the Dallas Stars.
Bow, 21, was recalled to AHL Texas on March 15th but did not make any appearances for the Stars. The St. Albert, Alberta native is 15-5-2 this season with the Steelheads, sporting a 2.24 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage. Bow is 7-7-0 in 16 appearances this season with Texas. The rookie goaltender signed his first NHL contract on March 10th, a two-year entry level contract with the Dallas Stars.
McMurtry, 24, played five games earlier this season with the Steelheads between January 11th and February 1st. totaling a goal and five points during his time in Boise. The rookie from Greely, Ontario has tallied six goals and 12 points in 39 games this season in Texas. McMurtry joined the Stars at the end of last season following a four-year college career at Northeastern University.
Hache, 23, was a seventh-round draft pick of the Arizona Coyotes in 2012, and he was acquired by the Dallas Stars in a trade on February 1st. Hache has played 17 games in the AHL this season with Tucson and Texas, earning two assists and 28 penalty minutes. In 21 games with the Rapid City Rush this year, Hache recorded two goals and nine points, along with 22 penalty minutes. Prior to this season, the Petit-Rocher, New Brunswick native played 133 AHL games over two seasons with the Portland Pirates and Springfield Falcons, totaling two goals and 20 points.
