Landon Bow signs NHL contract with Dallas Stars

Boise, ID (3/10/17) –Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced on Friday that the Stars have signed Steelheads rookie goaltender Landon Bow to a two-year entry level NHL contract. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Bow, 21, has split time this season with the Steelheads and the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars, with the first-year pro playing on an AHL contract with Texas this year. In Idaho, Bow has gone 15-4-2 with a 2.15 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage, both figures ranked second among ECHL goaltenders and first among rookies. With Texas, Bow went 7-7-0 in 16 AHL appearances.

The St. Albert, Alberta native is 11-1-1 in his last 13 ECHL appearances and has earned shutout victories in two of his last four starts, the first two shutouts of his professional career. Bow was the runner-up in voting for ECHL Goaltender of the Month honors in February and in Goaltender of the Week voting for the week of February 27th.

“Landon has done a nice job in his first pro season,” said Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham. “He has maintained a level of consistency and focus throughout this season. It’s important for him to continue to grow and develop as a professional and I have the utmost confidence that he will put in the necessary work to do so.”

Bow played four seasons in the Western Hockey League before turning pro, playing in 137 games for the Swift Current Broncos from 2012 to 2016, and finishing the 2015-16 campaign playing 23 games for the Seattle Thunderbirds. Bow finished his junior career with a 74-56-13 record and 15 shutouts.
