Boise, ID (2/2/17) –Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced several transactions on Thursday afternoon, as the AHL’s Texas Stars recalled forward Michael McMurtry from Idaho while reassigning defenseman Brandon Anselmini to the Steelheads.
Anselmini, 23, joins the Steelheads for the third time this season after having been recalled by AHL Texas on January 19th. The rookie blue liner has appeared in 24 games for Idaho this season, netting two goals and 12 points. Anselmini has recorded three assists in ten AHL games this year.
McMurtry, 24, played five games with the Steelheads since joining Idaho on January 11th, scoring a goal and adding four assists. The first-year pro has totaled five goals and ten points in 26 games this season with AHL Texas.
The Steelheads also announced that they have released defenseman Brandon Greenside. Greenside played one game with the Steelheads, appearing for his ECHL debut in Wednesday night’s contest against the Utah Grizzlies. Greenside has played 97 career games in the SPHL, including ten this season with the Peoria Rivermen.
