Steelheads announce donations for Jayden DeLuca Foundation Jersey Auction

Boise, ID (2/14/17)— The Idaho Steelheads have announced the total donations from this past weekend’s Jayden DeLuca Foundation Jersey Auction at CenturyLink Arena. During their weekend series against the Wheeling Nailers, the Steelheads and their fans collected $17,200 to be donated to the Jayden DeLuca Foundation and St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in support of pediatric cardiac care.

The Steelheads raised $13,700 across the weekend with the jersey auction, which gave fans the opportunity to purchase game-worn specialty jerseys that were designed by the Jayden DeLuca Foundation. Defenseman Joe Faust saw his jersey sold for the highest bid, earning $1,000. The team also raised $3,500 raffling off an additional jersey that was autographed by each member of the team.

“The Jayden DeLuca Foundation is an organization that we are extremely proud to work with each season,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “We are thrilled that once again our fans came out in full force to support this very important cause and an organization that helps so many families in the Treasure Valley every year.”

This year’s donation is an increase over last year’s event, when $12,550 was collected for the foundation. The Steelheads have now collected a combined $35,825 during their two jersey auctions this season, with the St. Luke’s Pink in the Rink Jersey Auction still to come.
