Boise, ID (2/16/16) – The Idaho Steelheads are proud to announce that Brian McCormack has been named the organization’s Employee of the Year for 2016.
Brian is in his second season as the team’s Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations after spending three seasons in the broadcast booth for Geneseo, an NCAA Division III program in New York.
McCormack is responsible for not only broadcasting all Steelheads games on 1350 KTIK-AM and ECHL.TV, but also hosting the Steelheads radio show which can also be heard on 1350 KTIK-AM. He is also instrumental in the production of content for the Steelheads website and social media channels, as well as the Front Street Fights brand.
Among his many responsibilities, including coordinating stories and interviews with the local media, McCormack has been a vital in the continuation of the CenturyLink Hat Trick Reading Program, a program designed to reward young hockey fans for reading at home with their families.
“Brian has continued on the strong tradition of broadcasting we’ve had with the Steelheads for the past 20 years,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “He has also been a large part in the success of our community relation efforts.”
In addition to his broadcasting duties, Brian took over booking the team’s travel this summer.
“Brian is an integral part of our team and organization,” said Steelheads Head Coach Neil Graham. “His work ethic and positive attitude is a pleasure to be around every day.”
This is McCormack’s first Employee of the Year award with the Steelheads.
