Brandon Anselmini rejoins the Steelheads

Boise, ID (1/6/17) –Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham confirmed on Friday afternoon that defenseman Brandon Anselmini has returned to the Steelheads from the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars and will be available for the Steelheads Friday night game against the Alaska Aces. Anselmini was reassigned to Idaho by Texas on January 5th.

Anselmini, 23, was initially called up to Texas on November 27th. The rookie blue-liner played nine games with the Stars, collecting three assists and posting a plus-4 rating.

Anselmini has appeared in 18 games this year with the Steelheads, scoring two goals and adding nine assists. Despite missing over a month of ECHL action, Anselmini still leads all ECHL rookie defensemen with eight points on the power play.

He scored a power play goal in his last appearance with Idaho, a game against the Allen Americans at CenturyLink Arena on November 26th.
