Steelheads sign defenseman Jake Rutt

Boise, ID (12/2/16) – Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday afternoon that the team has signed defenseman Jake Rutt to an ECHL contract, and that he will be available for Friday night’s contest against the Alaska Aces. Rutt was a member of Steelheads teams in 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Rutt, 25, has played in 57 games for Idaho over parts of two seasons, the Scarborough, Maine native joining Idaho at the end of the 2014-15 campaign after a four-year career at the University of Maine. With Idaho, Rutt has a goal and 11 points, as well as two assists in nine playoff games.

In four seasons with Maine, Rutt totaled nine goals and 32 points in 120 games. He served as an assistant captain during his senior year.
