Boise, ID (11/28/16) –Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham confirmed on Monday that defenseman Brandon Anselmini has been recalled by the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.
Anselmini, 23, has played in all 18 of Idaho’s games this season in his first full professional campaign. The Ferris State University alum has scored two goals and 11 points with Idaho this year, and his eight power play points were first among all rookies and all defensemen in the ECHL. Anselmini had eight points in his past ten games, including a power play goal on Saturday night against the Allen Americans.
Anselmini is under AHL contract with Texas and was assigned to the Steelheads during training camp in October. This is his first call-up to the Stars.
