Boise, ID (10/26/16) - Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Wednesday that the Idaho Steelheads have named their leadership group for the 2016-17 season. Forward Jefferson Dahl has been named captain of the Idaho Steelheads.
Forward Rob Linsmayer and defenseman Zach Bell will also wear letters on their jerseys, with both players named assistant captains.
“All three captains are men who lead by example on and off the ice,” said Graham. “We have a lot of leaders in our dressing room, and we are proud to announce these three players.”
Dahl, 27, is in his third season with the Steelheads and served as an assistant captain on last year’s team. Dahl has played in 114 games for Idaho, collecting 88 points.
Linsmayer,26, also has significant Steelheads seniority. The forward enters his fifth season with Idaho and has played 139 games with the Steelheads. Linsmayer scored his 100th point with the Steelheads over the weekend to move to 12th on the Steelheads’ ECHL all-time scoring list.
Bell, 23, was acquired by the Steelheads last season on February 19th. Now in his third full pro season, Bell has earned two goals, nine points, and 51 penalty minutes in 20 games as a Steelhead.
“All three players have earned this role and are natural leaders, with the way they play the game and carry themselves as professionals,” said Graham.
