Boise, ID (8/29/16) – The Idaho Steelheads released their preseason schedule on Monday morning, announcing a home-and-home set against the Utah Grizzlies prior to the start of the 2016-17 ECHL regular season.
The Steelheads will visit the Grizzlies at the Utah Olympic Oval on Monday, October 10th for a 7pm puck-drop. The teams will then meet again on October 11th for a 7:15pm face-off at CenturyLink Arena in the final exhibition before opening night of the ECHL season.
“We’re excited to get our season underway,” said Steelheads Head Coach Neil Graham. “The support we get from the community is exceptional. We have the best fans in the ECHL and we can’t wait to get started.”
The preseason exhibition will serve as a dress rehearsal for the first week of the regular season, when the Steelheads and Grizzlies will face each other in each of the season’s first four games. The Steelheads and Grizzlies will meet 11 times this season. Idaho was 10-2-1 against Utah during the 2015-16 campaign.
Tickets to the Steelheads’ home preseason game on October 11th will be reserved for Steelheads’ season ticket holders.
Preseason games will not be broadcasted on television or radio, with Steelheads game broadcasts on CableOne, KTIK Radio, and ECHLTV resuming for the first game of the regular season on October 14th.
