Boise, ID (6/16/16) –The Idaho Steelheads were recognized on Wednesday afternoon as one of Idaho’s favorite destinations for sports fans in 2016. The 2016 Best of Treasure Valley survey, a poll of Idaho Statesman readers that ranks the best of the best in Idaho, awarded the Steelheads second place in the “Best Sporting Event” category.
The survey has named Steelheads hockey the number-2 sporting event in the Treasure Valley several years in a row, with an average of 4,200 fans attending each Steelheads game at CenturyLink Arena this season.
“In addition to putting a winning product on the ice every season, we also strive to create a fun environment where families and friends can come together and enjoy themselves,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “We’re honored that Idaho sports fans have once again recognized our efforts and we’re thrilled that people in the Treasure Valley have such great experiences at Steelheads games and at CenturyLink Arena.”
The Idaho Steelheads will be back on the ice this fall, with the first home game at CenturyLink Arena scheduled for October 21st against the Utah Grizzlies. The Steelheads will be celebrating their 20th season in Boise this year.
