Boise, ID (7/7/16) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Thursday afternoon that the Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Jefferson Dahl on an ECHL contract. Dahl returns to Boise for his third season as a Steelhead.
Dahl, 26, served as an assistant captain for the Steelheads last season and was tied for the team-lead in goal-scoring with a career-high 22 goals, as well as a team-leading ten power play tallies that was the fourth-highest total in the ECHL. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native also ranked second in scoring for the Steelheads last season with a career-high 49 points. Dahl played in each of Idaho’s first 69 games last season before an injury ended his campaign.
“Jefferson was the motor of our team last year,” said Graham. “He was responsible in both ends of the ice, he was an assistant captain, and he was extremely consistent for us. He contributes daily in many different facets of the game.”
Dahl led the Steelheads last season with four 4-point performances and had a four-game goal-scoring streak from December 16th-26th that was tied for the longest of any Steelhead last season.
Dahl has played 110 games for the Steelheads, scoring 35 goals and 83 points and ranking just outside the Steelheads top ten performers all-time in both scoring categories. Dahl played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin and dressed in 18 games for EHC Klostersee in Germany prior to joining the Steelheads midway through the 2014-15 season.
