Boise, ID (1/7/16)— Steelheads forward Rob Linsmayer and goaltender Philippe Desrosiers were both honored by the ECHL on Thursday afternoon when the league announced the results of the 2015-16 Fantasy Team voting. Linsmayer has been selected to represent the Idaho Steelheads for the 2015-16 ECHL Fantasy Team, presented by The Meigray Group, while Desrosiers was chosen to participate in the Golden Goalie Program.
The league named one skater and one goaltender from each of the league’s 28 teams to participate, after fans had the opportunity to help select the team with a fan vote on ECHL.com during December.
Linsmayer is in the midst of his best statistical season in his third full professional campaign. He leads the Steelheads with a career-high 32 points, currently sixth in scoring in the ECHL. He has 12 points in his past eight games. Desrosiers’ is having a solid rookie season with a record of 8-6-2, a 2.46 goals-against average, and a .907 save percentage. Desrosiers is 5-0-1 in his last six ECHL starts and is currently with the AHL’s Texas Stars after being recalled on December 30th.
Both Linsmayer and Desrosiers will wear a specially-designed jersey at a predetermined home game between Jan. 22-Feb. 23. Those jerseys will be at auction through The MeiGray Group. Jerseys will be available for bid starting on March 3 and running through March 24.
The Steelheads return home to CenturyLink Arena to face the Tulsa Oilers on January 15th, the first game of a two-game set. The Steelheads will auction off custom jerseys during that weekend to support the Jayden DeLuca Foundation and pediatric cardiac health.
