Boise, ID (5/4/2015) – The Idaho Steelheads announced the full, 72-game hockey schedule for the 2015-16 season on Monday, a schedule that is filled with fresh faces and new opponents.
The season opens on home ice on Friday, October 16, when the Rapid City Rush visit CenturyLink Arena and concludes on Saturday, April 9, when Idaho hosts the Missouri Mavericks. All 36 home games fall begin at 7:10 PM, with 27 of those games being played on either a Friday or Saturday night. A complete schedule can be found by clicking HERE.
While long-time mainstays like Utah and Alaska remain prominent (twelve total matchups apiece), there are eight teams appearing on the schedule that have either never faced Idaho or have rarely faced the Steelheads.
The Rapid City Rush (Oct. 16), Allen Americans (Dec. 18), Tulsa Oilers (Jan. 15) and Missouri Mavericks (Apr. 8) will each venture into Boise for the first time this coming season while Idaho will also welcome in the Gwinnett Gladiators and Florida Everblades. Gwinnett and Florida will each be making their third trip into Idaho; each team has visited once during the regular season and once during the postseason. Idaho defeated both teams in succession en route to the 2004 ECHL Kelly Cup championship, topping Gwinnett in the conference finals and Florida in the Kelly Cup final.
Idaho will visit each of those cities and will also play for the first time in Orlando (Nov. 12) and Wichita (Feb 20/21).
Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting as low as $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are also available. Contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 for more information or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
