Boise, ID (3/12/2015) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Thursday that the Idaho Steelheads have acquired defenseman Martin Lee from the Missouri Mavericks in exchange for future considerations.
Lee, 25, is expected to join the team on the road this weekend when the Steelheads face the Stockton Thunder on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He has skated in 55 games this season for the Mavericks, collecting 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) and a plus-2 rating. The 6-foot-3 blue-liner appeared in 68 games with the Utah Grizzlies last season, notching 25 points (four goals, 21 assists) and a plus-26 rating. In 14 games played against Idaho last season with the Grizzlies, Lee posted a plus-14 rating.
It's the second time Idaho and Missouri have done business this season. Idaho acquired forward Devin DiDiomete from the Mavericks in November.
Ralph also announced that forward Ludwig Karlsson and defenseman Troy Vance have been recalled from Idaho by the AHL’s Texas Stars. Both players are under contract with the NHL’s Dallas Stars. Idaho and Texas are the primary development affiliates of the Stars. Karlsson (nine goals, 12 assists) and Vance (two goals, eight assists) combined for 31 points with Idaho, each appearing in over 40 games.
