Boise, ID (2/27/2015) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday morning that forward James Livingston has been called up from the Idaho Steelheads by Springfield of the American Hockey League. The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
Livingston, 24, is the fifth ECHL-contracted player to receive an AHL call-up from Idaho, joining Patrick Cullity, Charlie Dodero, Scott Valentine and Jason Bast (twice).
The Halifax, Nova Scotia, product played the first 202 games of his pro career in the AHL prior to joining the Steelheads this season. In 47 games with Idaho, Livingston has 12 goals and 18 assists along with 51 penalty minutes as one of the team's alternate captains.
The Steelheads wrap up a seven-game road trip with games in Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday night. Game time each night is 8 PM (Mtn) and can be heard live on KTIK 1350 in the Treasure Valley.
Idaho returns home on Wednesday, March 4, to host the Stockton Thunder at CenturyLinkArena. The team will host its annual “Pink in the Rink” weekend on March 6-7, wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for St. Luke’s Mountain States Instutute.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Lays potato chips with each ticket.
