Boise, ID (12/3/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday afternoon that forward Jason Bast has been loaned by the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
The 25-year-old Bast is currently in his first full professional season after joining Idaho at the end of the regular season last spring, also playing for the team in the playoffs. So far this season, Bast is tied for the ECHL lead in goals (13) and game-winning goals (4). Combining last spring and the first 20 games of this season, he has 34 points (19 goals, 15 assists) along with a plus-14 rating in 33 regular-season games with the Steelheads.
This will be Bast’s first trip to the AHL level. Additionally, it means that seven players who have played for Idaho this season are currently in the AHL.
The Steelheads will be wearing specially-designed, blue-and-orange themed jerseys with the Boise State Broncos logo on the front this week. The jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction at the game to raise money for St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. The jerseys will be worn Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with tickets available for all three games by calling the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket.
