Boise, ID (11/4/14) – The Idaho Steelheads, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced Tuesday that forward Jason Bast has been named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for October.
Bast had seven points (five goals, two assists) and a plus-4 plus/minus rating in six games, helping the Steelheads to a 6-1 start. Dating back to last March, when he joined the team out of St. Francis Xavier University in Canada, Bast has played 20 regular-season games, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists (25 points) with a plus-8 plus/minus rating.
His seven total goals this season is tied for tops in the ECHL.
Bast is the sixth player to be honored as the CCM ECH Rookie of the Month, joining Tyler Gron (February ’13), Austin Fyten (January ’13), Josh Robinson (October ’13), Evan Barlow (January ’10) and Matt Climie (December ’08).
The Steelheads hit the road this week for three games in Colorado against the Eagles. All three games begin at 7 PM with Wednesday and Saturday’s contests each being broadcast live by KTIK 1350 AM. Friday’s game will be aired on KTIK 93.1 FM.
