Vance, Lagace arrive in Idaho

Boise, ID (10/8/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that defenseman Troy Vance and goaltender Maxime Lagace have joined training camp for the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads after being assigned to the team by the NHL’s Dallas Stars.

Dallas is the NHL parent organization of Idaho and the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Vance, 21, is entering his first full professional season after playing four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.  In 206 games, he collected 84 points including a career-best 29 (eight goals, 21 assists) last season with the Charlottetown Islanders.  He made his pro debut last spring with Elmira of the ECHL, appearing in four games and scoring a goal.

Lagace (pronounced lu-GAH-see) is a 21-year-old who is turning pro after, like Vance, spending four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.  He ranked in the top six in the QMJHL in minutes played, shots faced and saves for Prince Edward Island during the 2011-2012 season.

The training-camp roster now sits at 27 players – 24 skaters and three goaltenders.

The Steelheads will host the annual Season-Ticket Holder Only game on Friday, October 10, at CenturyLink Arena.  The team opens the regular season on the road on October 17 before playing its home opener on Saturday, October 18, against the Utah Grizzlies.  Tickets are on sale by contacting the CenturyLink Arena Box Office.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim’s Cascade Chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
