Pair of rookies added to training-camp roster

Boise, ID (8/28/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Thursday that the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Kyle Gibbons and defenseman Colin Shea.

Gibbons, 23, led Canisius College in scoring three times during his four seasons and finished his career ranked fourth all-time in scoring at the school with 130 points. He made his professional debut last spring, appearing in ten games for the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye, where he had three assists.

The 23-year-old Shea tied for top honors in scoring (16 points) among Massachusetts-Amherst defensemen as a senior and finished his career with 39 assists in 130 games from the blue line. He also led the team in blocked shots (66) in his final season with the Minutemen and was a three-time member of the Hockey East (NCAA) All-Academic team.
