Boise, ID (1/10/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday that the Idaho Steelheads have acquired forward Joe Caveney from the Florida Everblades and agreed to terms with forward Andrew Conboy.Both forwards are expected to be in the lineup for Idaho Friday night when the team takes on the Colorado Eagles in Loveland, CO. The game begins at 7:05 PM and can be heard live on KTIK (1350 AM) in the Treasure Valley.The 25-year-old Conboy has 157 games of AHL experience, all with the Hamilton Bulldogs, after being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007. The Minnesota native split last season between Cincinnati and Trenton of the ECHL, accumulating 16 points (five goals, eleven assists) and 216 penalty minutes in 49 games.Caveney (CAVE-en-ee) was acquired by Idaho in exchange for future considerations. The first-year professional appeared in nine games with the Everblades after exploding early this season in the Southern Professional Hockey League – posting 12 goals in 16 November games to earn SPHL Player of the Month honors. Caveney was a Division-III All American as a senior at Fitchburg State (MA) after leading the nation in assists, points per game, and power play goals.Idaho returns home on Wednesday, January 15, to host the Utah Grizzlies on RC Willey Family Night.
